How to prepare for the freeze-drying process
It is best if we get your flowers no more than 2-3 days after your event. Follow these simple steps to ensure the best results possible:
- Handle your flowers with care. Each time you bump or handle a flower it may leave a dark spot.
- Re-cut long stems and place in water or rehydrate arranged flowers by spraying them with distilled water.
- Place your flowers in plastic bag and put them in the refrigerator. Do not place your flowers next to fruits or vegetables as this will cause them to wilt.
- If your arrangement is too large to place in the refrigerator, keep them in a cool place such as a basement or outside in the shade as weather permits (if between 40-60 degrees).
- If you are bringing flowers from out of town, place ice in the bottom of a cooler, cover with two layers of newspaper and then place your bagged flowers on top of the newspaper [see sidebar].
- Large funeral sprays or other large designs should be watered and placed in a cool place.
Contact Us for an appointment as soon as possible.
