What is the freeze-drying process?

Our high-tech freeze-drying process is done without harmful chemicals. Special treatments are used to condition and prepare your flowers for the freeze-drying process. Flowers are then placed in a storage freezer for a short period of time.

The flowers are then transferred to the freeze dryer for the drying process to begin. Flowers are dried on average for 14 to 21 days until all moisture is removed. Moisture tests are conducted in order to ensure the flowers are completely dry. There are some slight changes, but for the most part, flowers remain somewhat soft and retain their color and shape.

Compared to other drying techniques, such as air-dried, silica gel and others, freeze-drying is absolutely the best way to preserve the natural integrity of your beautiful flowers. Most flowers freeze dry wonderfully; however, a few flowers do not do as well for unkown reasons. Contact us if you have any concerns about how your flowers will dry.
